First impressions; Becca, Clinique, MAC

Here is a bit of a different post for you!

So.. I did a bit of shopping on our recent trip to Hawaii. Im working on my haul post and it should be up early next week! I unpacked it all last night and had a play with a few items this morning and thought I would give you my first impressions of some of these items.

Note that these are my raw thoughts on products tonight after wearing them today for the first time!

Smashbox Photofinish Primer Water  Im a massive fan of the original photo finish primer and so was excited to try this spray. MY first impressions was that it was a nice way to start my makeup, it was cool and refreshing and left skin feeling and looking moisturised and very dewey. My foundation went on smoothly ( I used my regular CC+ Cream from It Cosmetics) and the finished look was very dewey until I used powder. Im not sure if it prolonged the wear of my makeup and I didnt use it to set the makeup as suggested but so far I like it!

Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector Bobbi Browns iconic corrector in liquid form? yes!! This went on and blended so much more easily than the paste like original and didnt cake at all. Win!

MAC Sculpt and Shape Powder in the shade “Accentuate and sculpt” The taupey contour shade in this really sucked me it. I found the powder really smooth and blendable in the contour shade. I didnt use the highlight shade today because I was in a bit of a rush but I liked how NOT ORANGE this shade was. It helped to scult out a bit of cheek bone for me without too much effort. m looking forward to using this when I have a little more time to be a little more heavy handed. But so far so good!

MAC Powder Blush in Melba I bought this without even trying it but knew that it was really popular and well loved by beauty obsessed people. Tried it today and I seriously love how warm and subtle it is. Its sort of a peachy pink that is really muted and dusty. I think this one is probably best suited to the colder months but you can bet your bottom dollar Ill be trying it more in the next few weeks. I think this would be a really lovely shade for a more mature look.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. I caved. It was the single last pan of the stuff in Sephora Waikiki. I used it really really lightly on my cheeks and now at 9pm the peachy shimmer is one of the only bits of makeup left on my face! Like all the other Becca powders its unbelievably soft and this shade is going to be one of my firm favourites. Cant wait to swatch this up for you!

Mac lip pencil in Soar. This is my first experience with a MAC lip pencil! Was pleasantly surprised at how soft and pigmented it was and wasnt as dry as I thought it might be. Creamy was the best way to describe it. I dont really need to explain the shade to you because its one of the most googled lip combos on the planet!

Speaking of googled lip colour shades MACs Twig is also up there! Im pretty new to the neutral brown lip and still need to play with the myriad of combos ( you will see more in my haul) but i really dug this look today!

Lastly i tried the new Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara! I had no business buying mascara but was intrigued by the tiny bristles and super thick wand. Ill go more in detail in a full review but it stayed in place all day and the tiny little spikey bristles really grabbed the lashes.

Do you have any of these products? Do you agree with my first impressions?

Oh gosh, I was hoping you would say Champagne Pop! was overrated. I need to hunt it down! x

Loving Champagne Pop! Soar is one of my all-time fave lip liners. That MAC sculpting duo looks so nice, I'll have to see if it's available here and have a swatch :)
