Hawaiian Haulin’ Macys and Sephora
Amongst the endless days of laying by the pool, eating delicious foods and turtle watching we also managed to squeeze in a few days of shopping while away in Hawaii. Two main days of shopping activity happened in the Waikele premium outlets (Hello Kate Spade) and the Ala Moana shopping centre. In addition to that was lucky enough to be staying directly across the road from Sephora Waikiki, The duty free MAC store and Macys.
I did a *touch* of beauty shopping. Hawaiian Haulin’ shall we say. I think Im pretty much done for this year in terms of purchasing new stuff (apart from a holiday set Ive really got my eyes on) Before leaving I did a big clean out of old, spoiled and unloved products and mixed things up a bit as to see what I had.
So Im pretty happy with what I bought, and only bought a few things on impulse, most purchases were planned.
The Bobbi Brown Greige Palette is stunning to look at. Its small, sleek and really sophisticated looking. I haven’t played with it much yet but i loved the look of all those beautiful cool toned shades. There is a nice mix of mattes and a couple of nice glitters. Ill be sure to do a full review of this with swatches in the coming weeks.
Ive been really excited by the Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Corrector which is like the liquid version of my beloved cream corrector. The price is steep at $59 Australian. Ive used it a few times now and have like its but will reserve my opinions until Ive used it for a few weeks and Ill do a review for you here.
Ive said it before. I really think that Clinique makeup is highly underrated here in Australia. I own a fair few items and there are very few that I don’t love. One of the reasons that its often overlooked is that the price is quite inflated here in Australia and people can get more “high end” products for just a little more money.
I picked up a few items that I had been coveting for a while including the Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour stick (which i have been LOVING) and the Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara which was released here not too long ago. I also picked up another Cheek Pop blush in the shade Plum Pop. These blushes are gorgeous! Their not matte or shimmery but give the skin a really subtle sheen.
I thought I would try some of the lipsticks as I used to own quite a few and really liked them so decided to try some of the newish Long Last Soft Matte lipsticks in Matte Peony and Matte Beauty. these are really soft and velvety and unlike any other matter lipsticks I currently own in terms of texture.
And heeere is the big one! The Sephora Favourites Give Me More Lip Lip Wardrobe, I really enjoyed the Give me more lip set from last year and when I saw it at Sephora I (impulsively) put that in my basket! Ill do a full review with swatches but for now you need to know that there are 15 deluxe sized mini lip products in a range of shades and finishes that I want to just roll around it and keep forever and ever and ever!
Here is another impulse purchase! I really didnt intend to buy The Becca Shimering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. Despite the hype I just wasn’t that into it as I already owned the Becca shimmering skin perfectors in Moonstone and Opal. But then I swatched it instore, and when a sales person came over and told me that they only had one left in stock in the entire store.. well. I don’t know what happened next but well its in my hot little hands now. It is simple beautiful though.. and surprisingly long lasting. Infact the couple of times that Ive used it Ive found that at the end of the day the rest of my makeup has often faded leaving this shimmering away on my cheeks.
I bought two Bite beauty lipsticks in Sephora, I really love Bite beauty lip products, they’re creamy, long wearing and come in a beautiful range of shades. My pick of the Bite Beauty Frozen Berries collection (for the US fall) is Juniper. Its a lovely rich berry shade that is buttery smooth. I also picked up another of the Luminous Creme Lipstick Duo; double ended mini lipsticks. In Australia only the neutral version seems to be available but this is the brights version. Two shades; Tangerine and Lingonberry are in this super travel friendly tube. I was lucky enough to nab one of the last Bite beauty VIB rewards with my points. It contains a mini lipstick and lipgloss in Bellini as well as a little travel mirror.
A little gift for me, this Marc Jacobs The Nudeist trio was a limited edition gift that was still luckily in stock at Sephora. With a stunningly sleek mirror, mini The new nudes lip gel in Role Play and a Highlander in Blacquer it was right up my alley.
Who buys three high end highlighters in a couple of days? Me (not even sorry haha) These Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminators are stunning. so beautiful in the pan they’re amazing on the skin! These aren’t chunky at all and give such a beautiful sheen to the skin. I resisted getting all four and went into Macys intending to buy So Hollywood but in the flesh I felt like Starlight and Peach Nectar were more suited (and unique) Again Ill do a full post focussing on these once Ive had to use them more.
And there it is. The only thing missing from this post are the couple of drugstore items i bought (not all that much really, just a couple of mascaras) and some MAC stuff.. which I will give their own post (sigh)
Which of these items are you most keen to see more about?
