January favourites!
Hi guys! Its the beginning of February (already!) and that means one thing! Its time for my monthly roundup of all the products I’ve been loving over January.
OPI – Comet in the sky
This one is no surprise! Its featured in three posts on the blog this year so far. There isn’t much more i can say about it other than it is stunning. Check out the manicure i did with it here.
Olay Regenerist Luminous tone perfecting cream.
I have been using this cream since it was sent to me late last year. As someone who has been around the traps for a bit i am kind of sceptical of claims made by creams with long names. I have to say that I have been completely surprised and impressed with this Olay product though.
This cream is super luxe and rich, I used it as both my day and night cream and used it exclusively for about a month along with the serum. I don’t know if it made me more luminous or that my face is now perfection but what i do know as a fact is that it left my skin very hydrated for up to 24 hours
(it still felt soft in the morning and i only needed a tiny amount)
Here is the thing though.. Along the way something changed.. and i don’t know when but.. my skin looks more even, some of my red splotchiness and dark spots have gone away.. and i only realised this when i realised that i was no longer relying on my trusty Estee Lauder Double Wear to “hide” the dark spots and blemishes.. I was a Double Wear fanatic and used it almost exclusively but i feel like i just don’t need it any more and am happy with a sheerer product and I can’t say that i really changed anything in my routine other than this moisturiser and the accompanying serum.
Im regrettably almost at the end of the tub and am seriously considering repurchasing it (despite having quite a stash of stuff i still need to review). I need to read some other bloggers’ reviews of this because i need to see if this has actually happened for other people too. Im kind of hesitant to stop using it!
Smashbox camera ready BB cream
I know …never in my wildest dreams would i think that i would include a BB cream in my favourites. Until this point i just felt like they never provided nearly enough coverage for me and always turned me into greasy mess. But i received this as part of my Christmas present in the Sephora Superstars box. Im not sure if this product provides more coverage than other products I’ve used or that my skin is just in better condition than it was before ( see above) but i used it exclusively while on vacation for a week and now have been using at least twice a week as part of my daily face and have been loving the finish and coverage of it. I still use a corrector under my eyes but haven’t needed to do much concealing. Its a bit pricey for a BB cream but if you can get your hands on it i really recommend it.
NARS Audacious lipstick – Angela
My other lipsticks have been feeling seriously neglected this month because i have just been reaching for this baby over and over again. I think its my perfect pink purple hybrid and the formula and finish on this lipstick is just divine. I think i may have to purchase a back up of this lipstick which is a first time thing.
MAC MSF Soft & Gentle
MACs soft & Gentle made its way into my collection at Christmas and I’ve been loving it.. Im not sure that i will ever take over from my favourite highlighter (Thebalm Marylou) but i do like how subtle and pretty it is on the cheekbones and have been using it almost exclusively over the past month.
Roberto Cavalli Aqua
This perfume was on my Christmas wishlist and my brother obliged and shelled out the bucks for this pretty blue bottle. I’ve been showing it big love in January but have barely made a dent in the amount of product.
