OPI Muppets collection swatches and review
If there was ever a nail polish collection for me it has to be the recently released Muppets collection by OPI.
From early sneak peeks of the collection my top choices were the gloriously deep and glossy blue titled Miss Piggy’s big number and the soft and subtle peach Chillin like a villain. There were quite a few glitter polishes available that also looked glorious!
I was lucky enough to be sent a few colours to try out and was so excited that Chillin like a Villain was included. I was also sent Let’s do anything we want; a clear polish with pink and white microglitter and larger pieces of white glitter as well as Gaining Mole-mentum which looks so scary in the bottle with it’s large pieces of pink, gold and silver shards of glitter. In addition to these shades I also purchased the aforementioned Miss Piggy’s big number.
After playing with the colours a bit I was happy to find that my initial thoughts on Chillin like a Villain were confirmed.
It is sheer and pretty but also buildable and is the perfect alternative to my usual favourite soft polish; bubble bath for appropriate office wear. This is three coats for maximum opaqueness (slightly see through at particular angles) My favourite thing about this polish is that it looks so lovely with a glitter top coat.
I found that despite my initial concerns I ended up loving Gaining mole-mentum as despite it’s crazy amount of large glitter it actually looked subtle and pretty on the nail particularly when it was just used as an accent
The other polish I loved was Miss Piggy’s big number which is amazing on the nails
With three coats this polish is amazingly shimmery and glossy. The micro shimmer catches the light beautifully without looking tacky. I also enjoyed using this colour as an accent along with the other glitter I recieved “let’s do anything we want”
My only complaint is that the blue polish is a lot thinner and more sheer than I had expected. This is not the kind of polish that you can apply in one coat and still look good. It is quite sheer as you will see below.
This doesn’t really bother me all that much because I tend to use two to three coats regardless of formula but some might be put off by it.
And that’s it all in all I really like the sample I have of this collection and would like to add the Kermit inspired green to my little collection. My favourite two were Chillin like a villain and gaining mole-mentum.. Which colours are your favourite?
