Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color Duo

Mary Kay is a brand that you may not have heard of but chances are that your mother may have some of their best sellers in her collection. Mary Kay is a highly successful and innovative cosmetics company which has helped generations of women to not only enjoy cosmetics but also to run their own profitable businesses. They make a range of skincare and cosmetic products and I was luck enough to get my hands on a massive haul of products to share my thoughts on.

I instantly fell in love with these Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color Duo blushes. They come as refill pans that are able to put into your own magnetised palette such as a Z palette or one of the small Mary Kay compacts  Each pan comes with two complimentary shades designed to be used blended together or separately. Each pan contains a highly pigmented matte blush shade and a complimentary pearlised shimmery highlighting shade.

Three shades are available

Juicy Guava is a bright coral shade. It comes across as more of a satin matte and is super soft and blendable. Its a perfect coral which is a combination of pink and orange but leans slightly to the orange side. The highlighter shade is a slightly warm golden shade which reminds me of maryloumanizer but less pigmented (which isn’t necessary a bad thing) The blush and highlighter can be used together to create a shimmery blush by swirling your brush across both pans or separately as a colour and highlighter. mary kay blush 3

Ripe watermelon is seriously pink. You really need to use a light hand with this to avoid clown cheeks as the powder packs quite a punch. It reminds me a lot of NARS Desire  but is more pigmented and brighter. The highlighter is a super subtle pale pink which reminds me of a powder version of Benefits High Beam.

Spiced Poppy is pure colour. Its a deep red orange that swatches as just about opaque. This looks great on all skin tones if used very very lightly. The highlighter shade is a darker golden hue that would look gorgeous on tanned skin.

Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color Duo blushes retail for $24 in Australia and are available online or through a Mary Kay consultant.
