Benefit Cosmetics – The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine powder.

Benefit The Porefessional balm and I have a bit of a troubled relationship, while I feel it is effective at reducing pore size and mattifying the skin before applying makeup it also makes me break out like nothing else does. When I say break out I don’t just mean a pimple or two im talking cyst like pimples on the side of my face that take weeks to heal and never come to a head. Just sore purple swollen mounds on my cheeks and sides of my face.

So when another product was added to the line ” the Porefessional Agent Zero Shine” I approached it with some trepidation. I was keen to try this super fine powder out but didn’t really want to have to suffer the consequences for weeks after wards.

I visited my local Benefit counter as soon as it was released and asked the MUA to apply it for me as I needed to try before I buy.

I was impressed at its blurring ability. It sunk into the skin looking invisible and gave me a smoothness and evenness to my skin that I loved. It lasted most of the day as well.

I purchased it a few weeks later and and have to say that I absolutely love the product  but have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the packaging

At first glance I loved the packaging. The built in brush and sifter make it so easy to transport (with out mess) and as usual the labeling on the product is just adorable. For something you carry with you in your purse I give this products packaging a A+++
However as an item to use on your vanity (or whatever) it can prove a little bit fiddly as you are removing lids and turning the sifter and then pouring powder into the small and fiddly lid. I am considering pouring half of the product out into a traditional sifter jar to use at home and popping the tube in my bag for touch ups.

Again as a travel item the brush is more than adequate but when used at home I tend to use another brush. The provided brush isn’t as soft as it could be and can be slightly prickly.

The product inside the tube is a dream, it is slightly tinted (it sort of looks a bit like the ben nye powders) but is still fairly universal. It is extremely finely milled and light and mattifies with out giving you cake face or heaviness. It smooths the appearance of pores and fine lines and almost gives you an airbrushed look while still looking fresh.

I havnt had any reaction to it like it’s primer sister which is a relief because I really enjoy using it.
If you’re after a powder product to pop in your purse then I can’t recommend this highly enough. There is no risk of smashed or spilled powder inside your bag. Benefit have done an amazing job of designing a beautiful product in a very portable style of packaging.

Have  you tried this product? what did you think?

Yeah, I really really dig the product and is the best packaging on the market for spill free and on the run application but its a little overkill for "usual" use. Still love it and would recommend it to anyone!
