Last week one of 2018 most hyped collaboration dropped at Mecca Maxima stores. The smashbox x Vlada  Petal Metal collection is undeniably photogenic. With its reflective rose gold packaging to the pretty rosey hues this collection makes an impression before you even open the packaging.

I jumped online to purchase some of the collection last week and then was surprised when Mecca sent through some pieces for me to trial. (See the video here)

there are a few lip options in the Petal Metal collection however the stand out has to be the metallic Always On Liquid Lipstick. The shade In Bloom in particular is a beautifully soft rose gold that despite its metallic finish is absolutely wearable and lasts all day.

The true star of the show however are the Petal Metal Highlighters which has a unique gel based formula without a base colour which can sometimes leave an ashy or coloured look to the skin, Both shades are equally as beautiful with Gilded Rose having a subtle gold with pink and gold pearl pigments and Rosemantic being a more rusty gold shade with gold pearl. Rosemantic is generally more suited to darker skin tones (unless used as a blush topper) and Gilded Rose is suitable for all skin tones.
