Hawaiian Haulin’ MAC

Here is the second part of my Hawaiian haulin from a fortnight ago. As I mentioned in my previous post (Click to see all my Sephora purchases) I was located conveniently close to the MAC duty free store and so purchasing from MAC, even with the poor dollar exchange felt even more of a good deal! I picked up a few replacements of my staples as well as some new bits and bobs.mac bright lipstick

Lets start with my signature bright lips; and then don’t come brighter than shades Pink Pidgeon, Flat out Fabulous and Saint Germain. I had been loving Flat out fabulous after I had seen it online and its that gorgeously plummy pink that i love both in the summer and winter months. Pink Pidgeon is a gorgeous hot pink, I love these shades paired with a simple eye to give an effortless glam look appropriate for every day. Saint Germain was a gamble and one that I don’t think will pay off for me, I think its more the thick, opaque formula (its amplified) that makes it look a little chalky on me but I will persist in making it work for me. mac lips

Next are the neutrals, believe it or not, despite being in my thirties I had never really worn neutrals until earlier this year. I just feel like they washed out my complexion but i think the key is finding the right neutral for you. And since starting on this hunt Ive tried a whole bunch to find that the pink, mauve neutrals are the ones I prefer over the overly brown.  I purchased; Twig, whirl and syrup. There isn’t much to be said about these shades that hasn’t been said before (search Kylie Jenner lips haha)  To compliment the lipsticks I bought two lip pencils in soar and whirl. These are my first ever MAC pencils and I really am impressed with the texture and pigmentation in these!

Despite needing 0 new blushes I couldn’t go past cult favourite Melba. Its a really warm blush that I think is perfect for sculpting the face as well as adding  a little colour to the cheekbones. Speaking of sculpting I picked up the sculpting powder. The highlight shade has a gorgeous satin finish while the matte shading powder is cool toned and perfectly subtle while still being pigmented. Another cult favourite is the MAC brow pencil in Spiked. Its a great cool toned dark brown in a mechanical pencil  with a very fine nib. I also got it in brunette for when I want a more subtle filled in brow. I was really keen to try the much hyped Haute and Naughty mascara as well but this has been put in the queue behind a whole bunch of already opened tubes.

Lastly a few staples such as Fix+, Prolonger concealer and strobe cream were on the shopping list. One impulse purchase was two of the gorgeous lipsticks from the limited edition MACnificent me collection. Fashion revival and Diva antics are both beautiful berry shades that are probably more suited to the colder months but a berry pout is something that looks timeless and beautiful all months of the year.

And thats it! I think its safe to say that I picked up enough to keep me going for a while. What are your favourite MAC products and which of these would you like to see more on?
