Urban Decay Aphrodisiac Palette
While the world is going Cherry crazy Urban Decay have released a sneaky new little pallete that isn’t getting as much attention as his big cousin. The Urban Decay Aphrodisiac palette has just launched at Mecca Maxima and the tiny little palette packs quite a punch of colour.
The Urban Decay Aphrodisiac palette features six shades to create a smouldering colour story based on rose gold and shimmering plum. Consisting of three matte shades, two shimmer shades and one metallic which is a borderline glitter.
At first glance the Aphrodisiac palette looks quite dark in tone, however the shades work really well together to create a myriad of very basic and very glamorous looks.
There are three shades which I would deem to be essential shades.
Sheets (matte) is a creamy nude shade which works well to not only lay down some base colour but also which works really well to buff out edges for a gorgeous “blown out” look.
Beyond (matte) is a rich medium tone brown leaning towards terracotta which looks fabulous in the crease and can be worn paired with sheets for a basic every day look
Whiplash (matte) is a very deep reddish brown shade which works really well to define the outer corner or could be even used to smoke out any eye look and add some drama.
Then there are three shades which really make this palette perfect for more glamorous looks.
Night fever (metallic) is a deep rose gold shade and is the shadow which is most like a glitter, in my experience it works best with a glitter glue to add some glamour to any eye look.
Addict (shimmer) is deep plum leaning towards magenta and looks quite dark in the pan but is surprisingly wearable. Despite it being a shimmer it works really well blended with other shades and Ive been loving it on the lid.
Lastly Glare (shimmer) is a chocolate brown with gold shimmer. The gold in this shade really brightens it up and makes it more wearable.
Priced at $47 the Urban Decay Aphrodisiac is on the pricey side, however it does fall into line with the rest of their pricing. I certainly have no regrets over this purchase and have been sneak peeking the looks I have been creating on Instagram for a good week or so as I have been obsessed with the purple tinged looks I have been creating.
