MAC Rebel. The every woman lipstick.
There are few lipsticks out there in the lipstick world that i would say that every woman should try at least once.
A shade that can be truly adaptable and complimentary, that is they work well on most people and seem to transform and look completely different on every person. MACs Rebel is one of these shades.
Take a virtual stroll through instagram or google images and you will see that this shade seems to take on a life of its own and looks almost completely different depending on the wearer’s colouration and how the lipstick was applied.
In the tube Rebel looks like a very deep and vampy looking plum/merlot shade that would leave most of us feeling a little goth (not that there is anything wrong with that) but once applied to the lips not only is it lighter but the creamy colour is actually pretty and wearable while still being a little edgy and bold!
On the lips Rebel varies from a bright plum that borders on fuchsia to a berry. It is simultaneously bright and dark and adds a real va va voom to a simple make up look.
The satin formula carries the shade really well, in a matte or retro matte formula this shade would look a lot darker and less wearable.
While in the tube the shade looks like it would be strictly a fall/winter shade i think paired with a clean and minimal eye look could be perfect for the warmer months.
Do you own this shade? What are your thoughts?

November 8, 2014I've been wanting this shade for ages, and this blog post has definitely confirmed that I need to own this. I'm going to Hawaii in January so I already have an extensive list of lipsticks to pick up! It's crazy how different this one looks in natural light vs flash too. It's very diverse :) Great post Rosa!
