Makeup mess .. All the time!

Believe it or not, beauty blogging is not as easy or glamorous as it might seem to be. Yes, we are always playing with makeup.. yes, we sometimes get invited to cool events and yes we do get free products from time to time but I think most people forget that the majority of our “work” happens in between the mundane parts of life and usually while wearing tracksuit pants with a cat in the lap (or is that just me)

We are constantly sporting stained wrists from swatches and our skin sometimes freaks out because of all the new products we are trying month to month. Our partners need to deal with constant trips to Priceline as well as their homes being overrun with product. Makeup mess everywhere!! Believe me when I say that this is not a complaint but it is important to know the reality.

What this is all leading to is that sometimes this whole blogging “thang” feels like hard work as you try and battle hurdles such as writers block, lack of interesting content or more so lack of time in between all the other non blogging parts of life. However, There are moment/days/weeks etc that occur every now and then, that completely make it worth it.

Sometimes its when a reader writes to you thanking you for an article that helped them make a decision about a product. Other times its just about being recognised, even in the slightest way by a fellow blogger or a company that you admire.

This week has been one of those weeks. Nothing particularly extraordinary has happened this week, just a number of small occurrences that have given me a little boost.

These include but are not limited to;

Being contacted out of the blue by two separate companies offering products because they like my blog and would like me to provide me some product to review.

Some positive feedback from a company who I will be loosely working with in the near future.

Receiving some great PR samples from the lovely staff of the many PR companies I am in contact with

Regramming of my Instagram photos by not one but TWO of my all time favourite makeup brands!

A couple of requests by other bloggers to do blog collaborations.

All in all im feeling the blogger love this week. Im so appreciative of all the people who stop by and take the time to read the often badly chosen and poorly organised words that I write and have to say that 8 months in to this blogging journey ive never been happier with what ive achieved, even if it is just a tiny blip on the radar.
