How to get summer ready legs
Its time to bare those pins! If you’re like me, then getting your legs ready for the long summer ahead feels like it will be a mission and a half.
With the help of some simple steps and affordable products you can get your legs looking smooth and ready to dance those summer nights away.
First off lets get rid of the last of that winter fuzz. While many people prefer waxing I love the convenience and smooth results that regular shaving gives you. Shaving is cheap, instant and easy to do. Keep in mind that not all razors were created equal. While borrowing your man’s BIC in an emergency is fine from time to time, your legs deserve the best.
The Venus Swirl has the most advanced razor technology, in has a unique flexiball feature which allows it to move in multiple directions, navigating tricky areas and fitting significantly better on knees and ankles. I love the ergonomic shape of the handle which has the perfect little spot to put your finger to help guide the razor over your legs.
Paired with a good shaving foam such as the Venus with a swirl of Olay your legs are smooth and soft and ready for the next step which involves getting a little colour in a safe and easy way.
Before beginning your tanning session you need to ensure that you exfoliate well to get rid of any old tan and remaining dry or scaly bits left over from winter. I prefer a physical scrub such as the Estelle & Thild Spring Rose Blonde Body Scrub. It smells amazing and is certified organic. For heavy duty scrub power try using a loofah or shower puff to buff the product over your skin before rinsing off.
For a quick and fool proof tan you cant go past a tanning foam like the St Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Mousse, used with a tanning glove the foam covers large areas with even, natural looking tanning product. There is a slight guide colour to help you avoid patchiness or missed spots.
If you’re after something a little less long term then the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs gives instant blendable colour which is waterproof and wont budge until you next shower
To keep those legs looking great you will need to regularly moisturise them. Not only will this keep them feeling smooth but it will also help to stop your tan from cracking and becoming patchy. I love the Jergens BB Body which is a silky skin cream which contains a slight tint to help “perfect” the skin while continuously moisturising your skin for hours.
