Go-To Skincare

If you spend any time at all on Instagram you will have seen pretty peach coloured tubes and bottles in the hands of your favourite Aussie beauty bloggers. What you have been seeing is the beautiful first beauty release from beauty blogger extraordinaire, author and new mum Zoe Foster Blake Go-To skincare. After spending years trialling and reviewing every brand imaginable Zoe decided to create her own brand of no nonsense, fun and effective skincare.

Go-To Skincare kindly sent me some products from their collection to try out and Id love to share my thoughts with you.

First things first! That packaging! Its super cute with its pretty peach and white design. The entire range of Go-To skincare features packaging which is pretty, no nonsense and just simple and well designed.

go to lips

Lips! ($14.95) is a simple and high emollient lip balm, it leans towards an oily type of balm rather than a waxy feeling one and is quite thin in consistency, I found that it tended to melt right into the lips almost immediately on touch. If you’re after a very thick balm then this might not be for you but if you like a slippery and moisturising balm then this will tick all your boxes. Formulated with lanolin, apricot kernel, avocado, almond, evening primrose, vitamin E and jojoba oils, as well as beeswax, calendula and shea butter this balm packs a punch. Special mention needs to be made of the yummy fruity fragrance.

go to coverProperly Clean ($29.95)is the cleanser in the Go-To range. Its has a pump dispenser which turns the watery solution into a soft and luxurious foam cleanser. Ive found the product super rinsable and leaves my face feeling fresh and clean. It contains a gentle amounts of salicylic acid which helps to fight spots.

go to face heroFace Hero ($44.95) is the product that I have been hearing rave reviews about and it was the product I was most eager to try out. Its simply a facial oil that is applied to cleansed skin before your moisturiser. It contains a blend of ten oils, as well as fatty acids and vitamins. Ive found that it absorbed quickly and could be used even on its own (without moisturiser) and still left skin feeling hydrated and nourished. Even those afraid of heavy oils and lotions may enjoy this as its so light weight and didnt leave a tonne of residue like Ive found other oils to.

go toMy favourite product from the collection ended up being the Exfoliating swipeys ($45.95). These ultra thin wipes are soaked in a chemical exfoliant. The pads have a slightly abrasive texture as well which help to slough away dead skin cells while the solution goes to work at revealing the fresh new skin underneath. These should be used once to twice a week to keep skin looking smooth and ready for any foundation that you might like to wear.

All in all I think Zoe and her team have a done a great job in creating Go-To skincare; a cool and modern brand that won’t break the bank but offers great quality products without any of the nasty chemicals or animal testing.
