NailMania – OPI Fifty Shades of Grey collection + Giveaway!

Meow! To celebrate the upcoming world wide release of the movie based on the best selling novel Fifty Shades of Grey OPI  have released a limited edition collection of gorgeous polishes and guess who got her hot little hands on the collection just before it was released.
I recieved a very sexy package last week containing the six new shades as well as a lacy little sumthin sumthin and I got right onto swatching them for you so that you can run into your local OPI stockists and grab some before they sell out.
Despite the name the collection does not consist of fifty grey polishes rather three varying intensities of grey as well as a gorgeous rich but bright red, a gloriously smooth shimmery silver and a blue silver micro glitter. It’s not the prettiest of collections but has some great shades that I think will be great in the cooler months. The shades are a little edgy and a lot cool and perfect for someone who wants to find a new classic
Dark side of the mood
Dark side of the mood is the darkest of the shades and is highly pigmented and is best described as a dark charcoal grey. It’s super glossy. It’s a little streaky on the first coat but after the second coat it’s flawless.
Two coats in natural light witht no topcoat
Embrace the gray
Embrace the gray is a deep grey which to me has a touch of blue in it. It was probably my favourite of all the shades as its one of those shades which is classically classy while also being a bit different. Again its highly  pigmented but was different in that it wasn’t as streaky and you could get away with wearing one coat.

My silk tie
I’m not usually a big fan of silvers, they often make my skin look a little washed out but I was so impressed with the finish of this one. It’s aptly named my silk tie and it’s one of the smoothest polishes I’ve ever worn. One coat (as below) is sheer but streak free and pretty.

Two coats gives a beautiful finish. It’s not as glossy as the other shades but is
trully beautiful. I really recommend you check this one out because it’s glorious.

Romantically involved

Romantically Involved is the hot red of the collection. It’s a classic red and is super glossy and just perfection. There isn’t much else to say and I’ll let the photo speak for itself

Shine for me
Shine for me is the one glitter of the collection and while it’s fitting for the collection it’s probably not one I would have bought for myself. It has excellent glitter payoff and is mostly silver micro glitter with some blue

Two coats of this polish (see below) gives great coverage and it’s super sparkly

Layered into top of dark side of the moon the silver really shows through.
Cement the deal
Cement the deal is similar to embrace the gray exept it has more of a white base. It’s the grey equivalent of a pastel and is quite wearable. If you’re not into the deliciously dark nature of this collection this one would look lovely paired with pastels for a soft pretty look.

While the greys might look quite similar in the bottle when swatched side by side you can see that they’re actually quite different.
Left to right – cement the deal, embrace the grey, dark side of the moon and silk tie.
The OPI Fifty Shades Of Grey collection is available in single shades and in a mini collection  at Myer, David Jones and the usual OPI Stockists
