July faves!!

Brrrr.. haven’t things gotten chilly around here!!

Here are the products that have helped me fight the good fight against turning into a scaly reptile and have helped warm my heart!

People for plants Body Scrub*

I have really been enjoying this brand lately, after I was super impressed with the day cream and hydration gel a few months back I was so happy to receive more from this brand. I have given this scrub quite a workout as my skin especially on my legs and err.. backside tends to get rough and dry during the winter months. This scrub has a lovely scented base product with lots of little scrubby bits that have helped to stop my skin looking too ashy and dry. Cant tell you how much I love this scent! As usual, with People for plants their ingredients don’t contain any of the nasties that I try and avoid.
Thebalm Shady Lady Special Edition palette
If youre a regular reader you will know that I am a one man (lady) fan club of this brand. I write about them all the time and 90% of thebalm cosmetics that I own have been purchased with my own money (the ultimate beauty blogger compliment to any brand) Im not sure that this palette is available in Australia as I purchased it from the BeautyJoint website. I have been using this palette almost everytime I go out. ITs funny because I have really been digging matte everything lately and so I was super surprised how much I enjoyed this shimmery palette.  My eyes have had super pretty pink, purple and grey shimmery washes over them all month. As with all Thebalm shadows the colours are rich and formula is super smooth and blendable. David Jones has other Shady Lady palettes available instore.
Dr Lewinn’s Day Cream Moisturiser and Sensitive Cleansing Milk*
I got my hands on these products at the recent McPhersons Beauty Market Event, held in Sydney earlier this month. I have been using the cleansing milk along with my Clarisonic every night to give my face that super dooper clean feeling! I love the pump pack which is great to use in the shower (where I do ma scrubbing) and the generous sizing means is quite good value for money (under $30) As part of my night time skincare routine this cleanser has been helping me keep it all under control.
I have found the Day Cream quite good as well, I have been using this most mornings to freshen up my face and help all the makeup go on smoothly.  I had never really considered Dr Lewinn’s as a choice for myself as it seemed a little outdated and something my grandmother was more likely to use but after trialling it out this month I will definitely be repurchasing the cleanser at the least.
Covergirl Flamed out Mascara (black/brown blaze)
I bought this mascara earlier this month after rave reviews all over Instagram. I was disappointed when I opened the packaging to find that I has mistakenly purchased black/brown instead of black. I went ahead and used it anyway and was so impressed. The brush lifted and separated my lashes really well and the formula was not clumpy or smudgy at all. My short but thick lashes which are prone to some serious sticking together clumpiness looked long and lush.
I went out the next opportunity I had and purchased it in black.. and here is where things got a bit weird. When trying the black the first time I found that it was way clumpier than the brown.. Even though the brush in entirely the same I found that the bristles were all clogged up with too much product and I have to wipe off most of the product before applying. Im going to keep trying with it.. perhaps once it dries out a little it will become better.. here is hoping because the black/brown formula (pictured above) is close to mascara perfection.
Maybelline Master Precise liquid liner
I purchased this liner a couple of months ago and it sat mostly unused in my collection until this month. At first I wasn’t sure that I liked the flimsy nature of the very fine tip and was afraid that it would get messy. I was pretty much entirely wrong! This month I have been using it almost exclusively to try and achieve that most coveted of eyeliner looks, the flicked out winged eyeliner. I cant say that my skills are all the way there yet but this tiny little tip is making it easier to get right close to the lash line.
OPi -Russian Navy

This navy blue and iridescent purple polish has had to be my favourite manicure this month. The way that this colour catches the light while still looking effortlessly chick has cemented it into being a firm winter favourite. In this look from earlier this month I used a matte top coat to add some interest to the ring finger as well as a piece from the Gwen Stefani polish set Over and over a Gwen on the pointer finger.

Thanks for stopping by!
