The Aussie overachievers.. products that do it all!

Australians, we’re known for our can – do attitude and adaptability to even the hardest of conditions, our animals and dangerous and our plants can withstand even the driest and harshest environments..

ok.. ok..

So maybe I am just playing into the existing stereotypes of the sunburnt country and all that.. Im here today to actually to show you some Aussie over achievers.

There are some products that earn their price tag, they’re able to pay their way by not only being a great, dependable and high quality product but  they also give you bang for your buck as they serve more than one purpose. Here are a three of my favourite multi purpose products!

I’m a recent convert to the nourishing line of Lotions, balms and body products from the Australian company Lanoplips.. The Lanolips 101 ointment is a tiny little tube that exceeds expectations. It is great to keep in your purse as not only will it keep your lips soft and supple throughout the day but it can also be used for a multitude of other purposes when youre on the go! Dry, rough looking cuticles? Rub in the smallest amount of balm and see them instantly look fresher (this is a must for me when I take my nailpolish swatches) It can also be used on dry elbows and any chapped or sore spots on your skin. This is seriously a must during the cold, winter months.

The Jojoba Company, 100% Natural Australian Jojoba *

Jojoba is the only plant known to produce wax esters similar to those in our skin. Its these wax esters in our naturally produced Sebum that keep skin soft and supple. Over the winter months or as we age our skin does not produce as much sebum and we tend to get drier, more uncomfortable skin or signs of aging.

I have found that this oil really comforting and nourishing as the winter months take their toll on my skin. I use it after shaving on my legs to stop them looking scaly and dry, rub it into my elbows when they are feeling dry and have even used it in my hair when I have reverse washed it (see more about that here) But the thing I have found it most helpful as is as a boost to my normal moisturiser. I often add a drop or two in with my normal products to give them an anti aging and super nourishing boost.  This do anything single origin oil is not super greasy and I find that it absorbs into my skin very well. I have also on occasion used it alone after cleansing as an over night treatment to find my skin feeling so soft in the morning.

Scout cosmetics bronzer*

Here is a (badly kept) secret.. Im not much of a bronzer, because I am so pale I find that bronzers generally look muddy and way too dark on me but when I was sent this Bronzer from Australian mineral makeup brand Scout Cosmetics I was a little sceptical that this could work for me.  I found this to be a really good multipurpose product that really gave me a glow when I used it without looking heavy or over done.

I have used this really lightly on my face as an all over bronzer and also under the cheeks for some slight contouring. The real magic to this product is that it can be used all over your body and face to impart a slightly shimmer and sunkissed look. From a simple neutral eye to sweeping it over the décolletage and used in its most traditional sense as a face powder.

MY favourite way to use this powder is to mix it with a little lotion and apply it to my arms and legs for a subtle self tanner that wont stain and washes off in the shower.

I always get really excited when I can find products that do more than one thing well as it means I don’t have to cart around a bag full of products while still looking and feeling good about my appearance. All these Aussie brands are fabulous at what they do and are well worth the money!

Great post! I have wanted to try the jojoba oil for a while now. Have you used it as a eye makeup remover? My lips are forever dry I'll have to try out that lip balm too xx

I should probably try out what Lanolips is all about, so much hype around that brand! I've nominated you to do the Liebster Award tag, the questions are on my blog!
